Escorting Program for Troubled Students

Beginning on 1 September 2013 the department office runs Escorting Program for Troubled Students. The targets are:

  • Students with GPA 2.5 downward
  • Students taking undergraduate thesis more than 2 semesters

The procedure of escorting is as follows:

1.1. Semester 0

  • department board summons students for interview and counseling in early.
  • interview is to identify the causes of academic performance problems.
  • counseling is to give solution for the problems.
  • students list is sent to academic consultant and undergraduate thesis consultant.

2.2. Semester +1

a. if there is no progress in the GPA or even a decrease, and undergraduate thesis is not yet completed, department board will send official letter to students’ parents.

3.3. Semester +2

a. if there is no progress in the GPA or even a decrease, and undergraduate thesis is not yet completed, department board will officially summon students’ parents.

Credit Transfer

There are three methods of credit transfer related to Student Exchange Program, International Academic Exposure Program, and Internship Program.

A. International Student Exchange Program
Students joining exchange program at partner universities are obliged to do and understand the following things:

  1. Consult with department board concerning subject courses to take at partner universities for the sake of credits transfer so that the courses are equal to those mandatory at the department.
  2. Credits transfer refers to courses aimed for learning and to similar course materials despite different names.
  3. When the subject courses at partner universities are not equal to department mandatory courses, through verification process by department board and curriculum committee, discretion is given for credits transfer to elective courses as many as 6 credits or two courses excluding Seminar.
  4. Courses unable to get credits transfer can still be listed in academic transcript sheet through official proposal to department board.

B. Local Student Exchange Program
Beginning on 1 January 2014, students of S1 Regular Program of FEB-UGM are allowed to take student exchange program at IUP FEB-UGM with maximum six credits to transfer per semester for the department mandatory courses. Students applying for the program must have GPA of at least 3.00 and TOEFL score above 550 (IELTS score above 6.5).

C. International Academic Exposure Program
Students joining International Academic Exposure Program (three credits) get three credits transfer to exchange International Business course.

D. Managerial Internship Program
Students with at least 4-semester study time are allowed to join Managerial Internship Program after having verification from department board. The credits transfer reaches 6 credits to replace 2 mandatory subject courses namely (1) Entrepreneurship and (2) Business Planning.

Dress Code

FEB UGM has introduced the FEB Way managing students dress code at campus. Students must dress up cleanly, neatly, politely, and simply.

A. Daily Academic Activities

For official daily academic activities such as lecturing and tutorial classes, things strictly prohibited to wear are:

  1. all types of T-shirt without collar
  2. shorts or mini skirts
  3. all types of sandals
  4. over make-up
  5. over jewelries

In order to get rid of social envy, during joining campus activities, students are not allowed to drive luxurious vehicles.

B. Dress code for Graduation Exam

Students are obliged to wear one of these two types of dress:

  1. minimum dress code:
    • Male: long-sleeved white shirt, black tie, black trousers, and formal shoes
    • Female: long-sleeved white shirt, black skirt, and formal shoes
  2. “Business Look” Dress Code:
    • Male: long-sleeved white shirt, bright colored tie with formal patterns (striped or plain), suit/dark trousers, and formal shoes
    • Female: formal gown with dark blazer and formal shoes
    • ATTENTION: Dark color means black, dark grey, dark blue, and dark brown

Graduation Ceremony

  1. Students having already passed are required to immediately enlist to join the closest scheduled graduation ceremony.
  2. Students having passed the graduation exam but suggested to make undergraduate thesis revision are obliged to have official approval from the consultant lecturer when enlisting graduation ceremony.
  3. Other administrative conditions to complete:
    • Books Free Letter from the library of FEB UGM
    • Books Free Letter from the library of UGM
    • Submission receipt on final version of undergraduate thesis document in pdf file in CD-ROM from the library of FEB UGM
    • Payment receipt of graduation ceremony fee
  4. After the completion of all the conditions and terms, students are given passwords to do online registration in http://sia.ugm.ac.id/wisuda

Student Absenteeism

Academic Rules Sunday, 3 June 2018

Students may send application to the department management to request a leave. The accepted reason for requesting a student absenteeism is a serious health problem needing serious, intensive, and long treatment. Other reasons instead of health problems need further consideration and verification from the department management.
