- A undergraduate thesis exam enlistment is academically possible when:
- the consultant gives approval on it.
- student has passed all the subject courses.
- student is graded minimum C for all department mandatory courses.
- Enlistment can be done online through this address: http://www.academics.feb.ugm.ac.id.
- Student submits the undergraduate thesis approved by the consultant. The approval statement must be written “approved and eligible to be tested”.
- Documents are turned in to the Academic Office of FEB UGM during work hours and consist of:
- three (3) copies of the undergraduate thesis already approved by the consultant, and covered with red plastic
- Undergraduate thesis Consultation Sheet (KBS)
- Course Taking Sheet (KRS)
- four (4) 3x4cm sized black-and-white photos
- 1 copy of High School Certificate
- plus 1 copy of D3 certificate for transfer program students.
- plus 1 copy of TOEFL or IELTS score reports for IUP students (TOEFL= 550 and IELTS= 6.0)
- Arrears Free Notice of Tuition Fee and Operation Fee from FEB Finance Office.
- Enlistment opens from day 21 until 25 every month.
- Enlistment for re-exam (undergraduate thesis and theory)
- Students who are declared FAILED in both undergraduate thesis and Theory have to enlist for undergraduate thesis and theory exam in accordance with terms no. 2 and 4.
- Students who are declared FAILED in undergraduate thesis are allowed to enlist via online for a undergraduate thesis re-exam, and when there are things to revise, there must be revision approval notification from the consultant to attach.
- Students who are declared FAILED in theory are allowed to enlist via online for a theory re-exam and show the exam card. When there are things to revise, there must be revision approval notification from the consultant to attach.
- Exam is held on the third week every month in FEB campus
- There are three lecturers consisting of one consultant lecturer and two other examiners to become Board of Examiners.
- In the case of student’s absence for the exam, only with valid and serious reasons such as hospitalization and/or family emergency matter is re-enlistment for the exam in the following month possible.
- In the case of invalid reasons and without prior notice, the concerned student is suspended for at least two months.
- At the start of the exam is student required to:
- show his/her valid student card
- hand in exam card to the chairman of Board of Examiners
- sign a letter of statement stating the originality of the work
- Graduation Exam has two parts: undergraduate thesis exam and theory exam.
- A time span of 10-15 minutes is allocated for student to give undergraduate thesis presentation during the undergraduate thesis exam.
- A time span of maximally 10 minutes is given to each examiner to ask questions, and thus the total time for undergraduate thesis exam per student is 45 minutes.
- The aspects graded in undergraduate thesis exam are (1) work quality and (2) ability to present and defend the research results from the questions or objections of the board of examiners.
- There are 14 points to evaluate the quality of a undergraduate thesis.
- There are 8 points to evaluate the quality presentation and discussion.
- Scale of assessment for undergraduate thesis exam is presented in three initial numbers: (1) 1 meaning less, (2) 2 meaning enough, and (3) 3 meaning more than enough.
- New terms to give final grade have been applied since 1 November 2014, and they are as follows: (1) Grade A = 170-198, (2) Grade A- = 149-169, (3) Grade B+ = 129-148, and (4) Grade B = 109-128.
- For theory exam, a time span of maximally 10 minutes is given to each member of board of examiners. Thus, there will totally be 30 minutes for every student to run the exam.
- For theory exam, three aspects are assessed: (1) materials mastery, (2) analysis and logic capability, and (3) fluency in reply.
- Scale of assessment used for theory exam is 3+ for each aspect of assessment.
- Student must gain at least 15+ from three examiners to successfully pass the theory exam.
- Having failed three times consecutively for the recurrence of graduation exam, students are given counseling service by the study program board to be more prepared.
- Students’ Social Service (KKN) is for students having already been through 90 credits of subject courses and passed all those courses.
- KKN is fully handled by Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) UGM, and thus all the processes from the preparation until the completion of the program become the responsibility of this institute.
- KKN runs in odd semester, even semester, and in-between semester.
- KKN runs for two months or more depending on the policy of LPPM UGM.
- KKN has two models i.e. Regular and Thematic.
- Students can choose Thematic Social Service (Thematic KKN) by forming a group of interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary students as the group members.
- The object of thematic KKN can be made a undergraduate thesis topic by the permission of the consultant lecturer.
- When the Field Consultant Lecturer (DPL) is a department lecturer as well, he/she can be a undergraduate thesis consultant with the topic taken from a thematic KKN.
- With similar terms and conditions, students can choose an internship undergraduate thesis rather than regular undergraduate thesis.
- Internship undergraduate thesis means that students conduct a managerial activity such as functioning management on projects, programs, or certain units of activities for at least 8 working weeks or 40 working days in partner companies.
- All the experiences during conducting the internship program are written to be scientific papers in three alternating forms in accordance with category of internship experiences gained:
- Applied research
- Business Planning
- Business Projects Managing
- After completing the 8 working weeks or 40 working days, students turn in an internship report containing work attendance list validated by the management of the company where they conduct the program.
- Registration begins when students enlist the subject course Seminar. In this course, they will gain lecturing materials emphasizing on applied research. At the same time, students have enough time to find any partner companies for their internship program.
- Similar to the classic undergraduate thesis model, a consultant lecturer is provided at the time the subject course Seminar is taken.
- Company selection for internship must be under the permission of the consultant lecturer referring to the criteria of companies as the location of internship.
- Criteria for company to be an internship location:
- a company with a business scale of at least equal to medium enterprises as defined in Law Number 20 year 2008 on micro, small, and medium enterprises.
- Company has net asset of more than Rp. 500.000.000,- (five hundred million rupiahs) until Rp. 10.000.000.000,- (ten billion rupiahs) for the highest, excluding land and building; or
- Company has annual sale of more than Rp. 2.500.000.000,- (Twenty five hundred millions rupiah) until Rp. 50.000.000.000,- (fifty billion rupiah) for the highest.
- five companies with a small business scale, as defined in Law Number 20 year 2008 on micro, small, and medium enterprises, in one area of business center.
- a company with a business scale of at least equal to medium enterprises as defined in Law Number 20 year 2008 on micro, small, and medium enterprises.
- When there is a kinship connection between students and the company’s owner or leaders, there will be inspection every two weeks conducted by academic officers of FEB UGM to ensure objectivity.

- Students may take undergraduate thesis only when they:
- have already passed Business Research Method subject course
- have already passed Seminar of the elective course taken
- have already passed all the mandatory subject courses
- have no more than 2 (two) Department not-mandatory courses
- have already passed Anti Plagiarism Workshop
- Every student has one lecturer as a undergraduate thesis consultant.
- Students officially get undergraduate thesis consultants when officially taking a subject course Seminar.
- During the undergraduate thesis writing process, students are obliged to at least have 8 (eight) meetings of consultation.
- When approved by their undergraduate thesis Consultants, students may propose to change their undergraduate thesis status into undergraduate thesis linkage, meaning that their undergraduate thesis is a collaborative research between the student and the consultant for the sake of joint publication.
- When students are proven plagiarizing in composing undergraduate thesis, their documents are officially declared invalid, meaning that they have to restart composing another new undergraduate thesis. Consequently, they will maximally be graded B for their undergraduate thesis exam.
- Students can apply to have replacement on their undergraduate thesis consultants after getting permission from the formerly designated consultants.
- In composing and writing undergraduate thesis, students must obey the manual determined by their undergraduate thesis consultants.
- Before passing the undergraduate thesis exam, students have to pay the tuition fee and do registration for course taking every semester.
- Academic grades appear in letters as the following:
- A: Very Good
- B: Good
- C: Fair
- D: Not Enough
- E: Failed
- For all the subject courses, grade D means pass the course, while grade E means that students fail in the course taken.
- The system of academic letter grading is adjusted to the proportion of numerical grading with the following adjustment:
- A : 90-100
- A- : 85-89
- A/B : 80-84
- B+ : 75-79
- B :70-74
- B- : 65-69
- B/C : 60-64
- C+ : 55-59
- C : 50-54
- C- : 45-49
